New Buses vs Rush Hour Crowd

SBS Transit has launched their new single-decked bus by Scania. And this morning on my way to work, I managed to board one, since it was running the bus service 100.

I have no idea why but the number plate of the bus was SBS 8888 D, must be my lucky day. Color theme of the bus was very much towards the logo of SBS, with orangy red seats and purple hand railings.

Space in the bus seems to have increased, probably due to design. The ceiling is all the way high, but due to the floor which goes upwards as you move to the rear of the bus, they put up a sign at the back.

Piece of advise for all the tall people out there, stay away from the rear of the bus.

And guess what?

There is even a seat-belt for the middle seat on the last row, so that the person will not fly off in the event of a sudden brake. But who in the right mind will use it, that is another question for another day.

Well, doesn't seem that getting a new bus helps much with the morning crowd, it's still as crowded and squeezy as any other morning. Just that there was another bus 100 running behind of this new bus, probably cos it was it's maiden voyage, so standby behind just in case the new bus breaks down or something.

Well, be sure to look out for the new bus, and run to board it if you see one. All about being Kiasu to try out new things. Typical Singaporean mentality.
