MHQ Retreat and Newater

On Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs had a corporate retreat at Singapore Power Building Auditorium. Boring. Real boring. What kind of retreat talks about work and work.

Sigh... Anyway, we were so bored that we started doing all kinds of funny things.

Priceless shot of Tre

Boring

So later during tea break, managed to take photos with the Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs, Mr Benny Lim

Then after that when we left the place, this is what we saw at Someset. So we don't drink our pee, but what are we actually drinking? Treated green and murky canal water?

Thirsty anyone?

And for the second part of the event, my group headed to Fort Canning Hill to learn cooking.

The old building at Fort Canning Hill

This was what my group cooked. Red Curry with Chicken and Pumpkin. But the Lord was good. Somehow, I've been assigned to the group that cooks the vegetarian version, which was tofu instead of chicken. Since I was fasting meat, haha... But I think after eating this, I got a sore throat.

Food

So today, after service, we had cell group at Expo. Indeed a good day. After which some of us went to town for dinner at the Fish and Co at Wheelock place. Guess what I had...

Seafood Platter for 2, hahaha... Yummy... Extra Calamari.

Don't eat me.... I'm just a prawn.

Night sky of Orchard road. Rather blurry as my hands wasn't stable.

Take the City Walk 2007

So on Saturday, we went for the TCS walkathon at Padang. Here was what happened.

We had breakfast at Subway, as all other shops were not open at 8am in the morning.
Daniel's recommendation: Tuna with Cheese, topping up with everything and sweet onions. This is gonna be on my permanent order list for subway.

And finally we gathered at the Padang for warm up session.

The early birds. Those who came later were not in this photo.

The tallest building here in Singapore.
Let's count how many windows there are. 1, 2, 3, 4, ten thousand.

Aileen and her people. Notice Vivien doing what she does best.

Chin Ling and company.

Pamela Goh's people.

Dennis, Dellia and Emmanuel. Happy Family.

William Kan and his boys.

And we decided to throw Alvin into the river.

Dennis and Dellia, what more to say.

At the ending point. Pam Goh's people

Boy, don't play with water.

And the Lord is indeed good. He held back the rain until the whole event was over, then it rained cats and dogs and fish and turtles.

Japanese Cemetery

Finally, I went to the Japanese Cemetery behind my house to take some photos the other day. So here they are.

Sign Board at the Entrance

A shrine inside.

Always wanted to take a photo like this when I thought of taking photos at the Jap Cemetery. Finally took it.

An old pillar as the tombstone. Rather unique.

The guide to this place.

The sun was almost setting when I went to the cemetery. Good thing it was nearby.

On the way back, took shots of this house in B&W and also color. Quite nice colors so decided to put in the color one as well below.

By the way, that's the moon above the house.

Parry School.

MINDS on Rosyth

Saw this on my way home the other day from work. At Novena Square 2. They were putting up halfway, and it says "No Medic".

Cloudy Day

Recently, it has been raining a lot. Isn't it great? Haha... It was very cooling, and very good for sleeping. Sleeping is such a joy when the weather is great.

This was at about 5pm, cloudy days and cooling, the way I like it.

At the bus stop outside my house again, waiting for the bus to come. My favorite kind of flower when I was young. Cupid's shaving brush. Love to blow it and watch the seeds fly.

I didn't know there was yellow flowers with the cupid shaving brush. Pretty huh.

A white flower growing beside the bus stop. Looks a little like an orchid.

A land snail at my place. Nice huh.

Sunday Service

Finally, i get the weekend off. Saturday and Sunday. This is what the Lord says:

"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done." - Genesis 2:2-3

And well, we planned to go Sentosa on Saturday, but it was raining, so we had to cancel it. Sunday was service at Expo, so on the way there, I took these shots of some Mimosa plants growing on the field beside Hall 10. Always liked to play with the "Touch-Me-Not" Plant.

I risked getting Dengue Fever taking this shot, cos there were mosquitoes all over by the place. Couldn't see what I was taking when i took this, glad it turned out fine.

Me and some of my boys.
(L to R) Gabriel, Kai Bin, Justin, me and Joel

And then we took an informal shot

My current full cell, all 5 of them.

Remember, No Bottled/Canned Soft Drinks and Food inside the Hall

William and his sons

And so, after service, some of us went over to Dennis and Dellia's place to play Nintendo Wii. Very fun, whahaha... Think I may want to get one too. Then that was Sunday.
Monday came, work begun. And then my colleague, Tre, took a photo of another colleague, Kenny. This is what he took, literally. No edits.

Anyway, happy belated birthday. Only noticed it when I was checking my mail and saw the friendster reminder, always comes late as it follows US time.
